Nasolabial Folds

The nasolabial folds are the two lines running from the sides of the nose to the corners of the mouth. Everyone has them, but with age they can deepen — largely because of volume loss higher up: as the cheeks flatten and descend, tissue gathers around the fold, making it look deeper and more shadowed.

Understanding this cause is key. Often the most natural, longer-lasting improvement comes not from injecting the fold directly, but from restoring support to the cheeks and midface above it, easing the crease from above. Dr Arti always assesses the whole midface rather than treating the line in isolation, because chasing the fold alone can look heavy and unnatural. Where direct treatment is appropriate, a small amount of hyaluronic acid filler is placed carefully to soften the fold's depth.
