The nasolabial folds are the two lines running from the sides of the nose to the corners of the mouth. Everyone has them, but with age they can deepen — largely because of volume loss higher up: as the cheeks flatten and descend, tissue gathers around the fold, making it look deeper and more shadowed.
Understanding this cause is key. Often the most natural, longer-lasting improvement comes not from injecting the fold directly, but from restoring support to the cheeks and midface above it, easing the crease from above.
