Tear Trough

dermal fillers

The tear trough is the delicate area between the lower eyelid and the upper cheek. As we age, natural volume loss, thinning of the skin, and changes to the underlying facial support can create a hollow or groove in this region.

The tear trough is the delicate hollow running from the inner corner of the eye along the top of the cheek. As the midface loses volume and the skin thins with age, this groove deepens — casting shadows that read as dark circles, puffiness or a persistently tired look, even after a full night's sleep.

Tear trough filler softens this hollow by carefully restoring a small amount of volume beneath the skin, smoothing the transition between eyelid and cheek for a brighter, more rested appearance. Because this area is so delicate, it is one of the most technically demanding to treat and should only be carried out by an experienced medical injector.

Dr Arti approaches it with particular caution, first assessing whether the hollowing is genuinely caused by volume loss rather than fluid retention or fat prominence — not everyone is suitable. Where appropriate, a soft filler is placed conservatively, usually with a cannula.
